NE weekend and Lincoln Marathon

We went up to NE for our marathon and got to do some fun family things to! We got to watch Luke at a track meet and Jaydon at a wrestling meet. So fun to hang with family!

We gotta make car trips fun somehow, right?!

Sweet babes!

With the uncles:)
Watchin wrestling with daddy!

Loves papa:)
Such a cool meet on an indoor track. Jayd won both freestyle and greco!:) This kid is good!

We did it...we finished the Lincoln Full Marathon! Could not have done it without all our amazing help!

We stayed at Mike's sister, Lindsay's house the night before we ran. This was such a huge blessing being close to the start. Sarah and Luke came and stayed too, and helped take care of the kiddos while we ran. They all took all the kids and came to different locations (coffee shops, haha) throughout the race to cheer us on. (pics coming soon)

My parents, brothers, Tyler, and Rome and Gray all came to different spots to cheer too! It means so much to have people their encouraging and supporting!

Loved doing something crazy together:)

Met up with Katelyn, a friend from PTA school! So fun to catch up with her while running:)

The Full was definitely an adventure. It was harder than I thought! The heat definitely played into the intensity. It got up to 87 degrees. We already had a good sweat going by mile 2. Staying hydrated with water and gatorade every couple miles really helped. We also ate a lot more quick cards (sports beans and gels) throughout to make it to the finish.

The first half of the race was a lot of fun! I felt great and the atmosphere was so cool. There were bands playing throughout and so so many nice people came out to cheer!
 Our cheering crew!

The 2nd half of the race was where it got intense. It was 6 miles out to Holmes Lake and then back to finish on the 50 yard line of Memorial Stadium. It was getting more and more warm. We grabbed ice at stations to help cool off which was great.

We saw Mike at a turnaround point after he had made it to Holmes Lake. He was looking strong despite the heat!

I think i'm in pain by my face, haha

At around 22 miles or so, I was not doing so well. Both hamstrings and back were cramping but walking through hydration stations only made it worse. (I think my electrolytes were off balance causing a lot of it) Meagan did outstanding. She encouraged me through it! It was so frustrating to be so close to being done yet it seemed so far! Loved doing this with my sister!

Mike finished strong! So cool for him to finish on one of his most favorite places ever! (Fyi time is not accurate-it took an hour to get everyone started). I'm so proud of how committed and disciplined Mike was training for this race. It is such a huge accomplishment!

They announced the runners as the ran onto the field at the finish. Very cool!

Love this pic...such a great mama!

I promise i'm happier than I look, haha.

My dad was there to save the day....stretching after we got done!

Overall, I'm so glad we ran this race! It was a lot of training but it was an incredible feeling of accomplishment. Who knows...I might be game for another:) I'm so happy to show our kids that being active is fun!

And we have to finish with the kids passed out, haha!
