NE summer trip '15

We went up to Ne for a week this summer. This is my favorite time to be home! It's so gorgeous outside, the corn is tall, everything is so green, and of course corn on the cob!:) I think I'll always be a country girl!

My sister and I and all the kids went up early, and our hubs came up the following weekend. We stayed in a hotel in KC on the way which was nice to break up the trip with all the kids. Unfortunately, Sloane and Oaks started running a fever and not feeling well on the way up:(

Oaks' started waking up several nights while we were there. We later found out it was a double ear infection, that boy! My dad was so helpful...he would grab him in the middle of the night so I could get some rest. He took him on walks around the farm to get his fever to break. I found out later, he was giving him popsicles because it was the only thing that soothed him, haha.

We took an afternoon to go to the waterpark in Aurora with my brothers. It was so fun!

Mike and my dad competed at Cornhusker State games. It was at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena this year. It was fun to watch them be competitive again! They both won all their matches. 

Of course, it was an adventure with the kiddos there during nap time. I'm always glad we get the kids out and do things, but boy oh boy it's an adventure!:) Yikes! Thankful for friends and family that helped out! 

We celebrated Oaks' first birthday with family!

We headed to Omaha on our way back home to meet our sweet new niece baby Lexi. She was precious! The kids enjoyed their time playing together!:)

We did a mini over night vaca in KC on the way home. I think this may have been the first time we've done something like that with just the 4 of us. Life gets busy! We went to a Trex restaurant, did a little shopping, and swimming! It was fun! 

Sloane has been asking for this Joy doll since inside out came out...Mike surprised her with it while she was napping. She woke up and it was buckled next to her...so sweet!! No wonder she's all about daddy!:)
